What is XRP (SEPA)
SEPA moves euros between euro-area bank accounts, and it is the leg that delivers an XRP sale into your bank. Banxa buys your XRP at a quoted rate and sends euros on as a standard credit transfer.
The euros land in a euro account you hold in your own name, matching your verified Banxa details. Payouts aimed at a business account or at an account in someone else's name get rejected by the receiving bank. That is the most frequent cause of a failed cash-out and the easiest one to rule out in advance.
XRP carries a trap the other assets on this list do not. Deposits to an exchange or a payment provider normally require a destination tag, a short number that tells the receiving system which account the funds belong to. Send XRP without the tag, or with the wrong one, and the payment reaches the address but not your account. Recovering it means a support process with no assured outcome, so copy the tag and the address together, every time.
Two clocks then run. The XRP Ledger closes in three to five seconds, so the crypto leg is effectively immediate. SEPA settlement is quoted at one to three business days and dominates the wait. Weekends and public holidays are excluded from that count, which is why a Friday sale often arrives on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Cost is folded into the quoted rate rather than shown separately, so the euro figure you see before confirming is what reaches your account. The XRP network fee itself is a tiny fraction of a coin and will not be the number you notice.
Per-transaction ceilings and cumulative limits over rolling periods both apply, and crossing one usually means further checks rather than a refusal. The thresholds that apply to you are shown at quote time and vary with verification level and country.
Expect an identity check on a first sale even from an account that has bought before, and expect questions about the source of funds on larger amounts. Answering quickly keeps the payout at the short end of its range.
Beyond the missing tag, failures sit on the euro side: a wrong IBAN, a closed account, a name mismatch. Each produces a returned payment that unwinds over several days and comes back as euros rather than as XRP. A return is not a loss, but the sale has already completed at the old rate, so the euros make a round trip and you carry whatever the market did in between.
Once your XRP is delivered to Banxa's address the ledger has settled it and no reversal exists. From there, only the euro leg can be corrected.
The exposure worth naming is the mismatch in pace. The ledger settles in seconds while the bank takes days, and your euro figure was fixed at the start of that gap. A price move afterwards does not change what you receive, but the money is not yours to use until the transfer completes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Almost certainly yes. Providers use a destination tag to route an incoming payment to the right account. XRP sent without it, or with the wrong one, arrives at the address but is not credited to you, and recovery depends on a support process that carries no assurance of success.
The XRP Ledger closes every three to five seconds, so the crypto side of the sale is essentially instant. The euros then take one to three business days over SEPA. If a cash-out feels slow, the bank leg is where the time is going, not the ledger.
They travel back through the payment chain and reappear over several days, as euros rather than as XRP. The usual causes are a wrong IBAN, an account that has been closed, and a name that does not match your verified Banxa account. Correcting the detail and selling again is the normal route.
