What is XRP (Faster Payments)
Faster Payments is the UK network that moves pounds between accounts in seconds, at any hour including weekends. Selling XRP through it means Banxa buys your XRP at a quoted rate and sends sterling over that network.
The pounds arrive in a UK account held in your own name, identified by sort code and account number and matching your verified Banxa details. Payouts aimed at a business account, or at an account belonging to someone else, are rejected by the receiving bank.
The destination tag is the thing to get right, and it matters more on this rail than on a slower one. Deposits to a provider normally need a tag, a short number that routes the funds to your account. XRP sent without it, or with the wrong one, arrives at the address but is not credited to you, and recovery depends on a support process with no assured outcome. Copy the tag and the address together, every time.
Both clocks are short. The XRP Ledger closes every three to five seconds, and Faster Payments settles in seconds, so a correctly tagged sale can complete within minutes at any hour. There is no business-day count and no weekend delay.
That leaves very little margin for a mistake to be spotted mid-flight. On a euro transfer an error sits in a queue for days, but here the sterling has usually gone before you look again. Check the tag, the address and the bank details before you commit.
UK banks apply Confirmation of Payee to the sterling leg, comparing the payee name against the name registered on the destination account. It catches spelling differences that would pass elsewhere, so treat a name warning as a reason to stop.
Cost is inside the rate you are quoted rather than itemised. The sterling figure shown before you confirm is what lands in the account. The XRP network fee is a tiny fraction of a coin.
Per-transaction ceilings and rolling cumulative limits both apply, and crossing one usually triggers further checks rather than a refusal. Your own thresholds appear at quote time. Your bank sets its own Faster Payments receiving limit too, which is often lower than the scheme allows, and a payment above it can be held for manual review at their end rather than ours.
A first sale brings an identity check even on an account with a buying history, because money leaving the system carries obligations that money entering it does not. Larger sales add questions about where the crypto came from, and answering those without delay is what keeps a payout quick.
Beyond a missing tag, failures sit on the sterling side: wrong sort code or account number, closed account, or a Confirmation of Payee mismatch. A returned Faster Payment normally comes back quickly, though the sale has already priced at the original quote.
Once your XRP is delivered to Banxa's address the ledger has settled it and no reversal exists. Only the sterling leg can be corrected from that point.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, and it matters more on a fast rail. Providers use the tag to credit an incoming payment to the right account. XRP sent without one, or with the wrong one, reaches the address but is not credited to you, and getting it back depends on a support process that carries no guarantee.
Minutes, if the tag is right. The XRP Ledger closes every three to five seconds and Faster Payments settles in seconds, at any hour including weekends. Neither leg imposes a business-day count, so the sale does not wait for a banking morning to begin.
A wrong sort code or account number, an account that has been closed, or a name that fails Confirmation of Payee. Returned Faster Payments usually come back promptly rather than over days, but the sale itself has already completed at the rate you originally accepted.
