Selling Litecoin in Poland
Selling Litecoin in Poland follows the Polish kapitaly pieniezne framework at 19% PIT.
Mechanics. Send LTC to a regulated platform, complete identity verification under MiCA and Polish AML rules, agree on the sell rate in euros, pick a payout. Litecoin block times are around 2.5 minutes; six confirmations (about 15 minutes) usually suffice for deposit. SEPA bank transfer is the default.
Polish income tax. LTC disposal gains for individuals fall under the kapitaly pieniezne basket at a flat 19% PIT rate. Crypto-to-crypto swaps are not taxable events. This is general information, not tax advice.
A point specific to LTC. Litecoin's MimbleWimble Extension Blocks (MWEB) added optional confidentiality in 2022. Most regulated EU off-ramps, including Banxa Europe IV, accept only transparent LTC. LTC sent through MWEB cannot be deposited to most institutional venues; you need to peg back to transparent LTC first.
Regulatory framework. KNF supervises in Poland. Banxa Europe IV BV (EUIV) services Polish customers under MiCA.
Important information for retail customers in the EU. Crypto-assets are not deposits and are not covered by deposit-guarantee schemes. Authorisation of crypto-asset service providers under MiCA does not constitute an investor-compensation scheme and does not protect against price losses. Crypto prices can fall sharply, including to zero in some assets, and you can lose the full amount invested. Settlement of any sell order depends on identity verification, payment processing, and blockchain confirmation. The tax information on this page is general only and is not tax advice; rules depend on individual circumstances and may change. The Dutch financial markets authority (AFM) publishes consumer-facing information on crypto-asset risks for EU retail clients.

Frequently Asked Questions
The sell flow accepts standard, transparent Litecoin only; balances parked in the MWEB privacy extension need pegging back to a transparent address in a wallet that supports both before you send. From there it is routine: the quote screen shows your payout figure before any coins leave your wallet, blocks arrive about every 2.5 minutes with roughly six confirmations (around fifteen minutes) before crediting, then SEPA carries the payout.
Litecoin in a wallet you control, held as transparent LTC rather than MWEB. A photo-ID check completed once, generally in minutes, then skipped for future sales. And a bank account in your own name; payouts are only sent to accounts matching the verified identity, so a spouse's or friend's account will not work.
Confirmation time is modest (six confirmations at 2.5-minute blocks is roughly a quarter of an hour), so extended delays usually trace to something else: an MWEB-format deposit that cannot credit, a payout account in the wrong name, pending verification, or ordinary bank processing. Limits differ by verification level and payout method. Follow your sent coins with the transaction ID on a Litecoin explorer.
