What is Arbitrum
Selling Arbitrum converts ARB into your local currency and sends the money to a bank account in your name. The network requirement is the part to settle first.
ARB lives on the Arbitrum network, and that is where Banxa takes delivery. The token was distributed in the March 2023 airdrop and has been an Arbitrum-native asset since, on a chain that has run since 2021. Your wallet needs to be set to Arbitrum rather than Ethereum mainnet before you send. Coins sent to an address on the wrong network are generally not recoverable, and no support process reliably fixes it.
If your ARB is currently sitting on Ethereum mainnet, bridge it to Arbitrum first. Note the direction: moving from Ethereum to Arbitrum is quick, while the return trip through the native bridge takes about seven days because of the rollup's challenge window. Selling avoids that wait entirely, since the coins never need to go back.
Confirmation on Arbitrum is fast, a second or two, so the crypto half of a sale is effectively immediate. Gas is paid in ETH rather than in ARB, though the amounts are small. A wallet holding only ARB still needs a little ETH to move anything.
The cash then follows over whichever payout rail your country supports. Instant rails can pay the same day, and bank transfer rails are commonly one to three business days, weekends excluded. The account must be in your own name and match your verified details, or the bank rejects the payment.
A first sale brings an identity check regardless of buying history, because money leaving the system carries obligations that money entering it does not. Larger amounts add questions about where the coins came from, and answering them quickly is what keeps a payout at the short end of its range.
Cost sits inside the quoted rate rather than on a separate fee line, so the figure shown before you confirm is what arrives in the account.
Once the ARB reaches the address it is settled on the network and cannot be pulled back.

Frequently Asked Questions
No, and you should not. Banxa takes delivery on the Arbitrum network directly. Bridging back to Ethereum first would mean waiting about seven days for the rollup's challenge window to close, for no benefit. Sell from Arbitrum and skip that wait completely.
No. Gas on Arbitrum is paid in ETH, the same as on Ethereum, although the amounts are far smaller. A wallet holding only ARB cannot move anything, so keep a small ETH balance on Arbitrum in the same wallet before starting a sale.
It is usually not recoverable. Set your wallet to Arbitrum before sending and check the address against the quote screen. This is the single most expensive mistake available here, and unlike a bank detail error there is no return path once the transaction settles.
